PEPCO VAULT LOWERING AT 9TH & MONROE STREET
The Pepco Vault Lowering project was an emergency project subcontracted to Fort Myer Construction by Horning Brothers to lower the side walls of a PEPCO Vault on the northeast corner of Monroe Street and 9th Street.
Fort Myer’s responsibilities included excavating a manhole 24″ below proposed grade, saw cutting existing concrete manhole 12″ below grade, removal of excess manhole walls, frame, and cover. We also performed installation of a new frame and cover level with the new proposed grade, along with back fill of the manhole and final restoration of the sidewalk.
