MT. PLEASANT ST NW – UPGRADE STREETLIGHTS & MILL/OVERLAY
District Department of Transportation launched a Smart Lighting Project that converts the District’s streetlights to more reliable and sustainable light emitting diode (LED) technology.
LED’s will have a life expectancy of 15 years and provide a truer white light quality, allowing colors to seem more natural and providing consistent distribution of light resulting in fewer darker spots.
Fort Myer was responsible for upgrading existing streetlights and installing new streetlights on Mount Pleasant Street, NW from Park Road to Columbia Rd. Our team was responsible for the construction of conduit duct-bank along Mount Pleasant Street with milling and overlay of the existing pavement and sidewalk restoration.
Project Significance
This project enhances safety and green initiatives in the community by providing lighting that is more energy efficient and cost effective. LEDs provide better, clearer, and more consistent light quality that play a vital role in making DC’s neighborhoods safer.
