DC BAR CORE & SHELL
The DC Bar Headquarters is a construction of a new eight-floor concrete framed office building with two levels of below grade parking garage. The first floor is a retail space with seven floors of office space. The space, completed late 2017, reflects the changing landscape for the DC Bar and the ways its members are supported. It includes a video production studio for education programs and space for member collaboration. It also features more than a full floor of meeting and classroom space, given that the DC Bar hosts roughly 25,000 member visits a year for continuing education courses and many other events.
Fort Myer was responsible for:
- Site utilities (dry and wet) work – cut and cap existing utilities, install manholes with appurtenances, 6 inch services and fire services; fire hydrants, and storm sewer systems
- Site Concrete – furnish and install granite and brick gutters; pavers, ADA ramps, and pave alleys and driveway aprons.
- Asphalt – pavement restoration to all parking areas, install new wheel stops and striping
Project Significance
FMCC had to strategically stage delivery of 5 large tractor trailers and a 110 ton crane within narrow city streets. We coordinate our work with various other trades to safely and successfully install over-sized PEPCO vaults in a very tight shared space.
