ASPHALT RESURFACING OF NOVA INTERSTATES & PRIMARY ROUTES
This contract included resurfacing existing roadways in Northern Virginia including sections of Interstates 95, 395, 495 and Primary Route Numbers 644, 789, and 99023. Work included milling, asphalt paving, pavement markings and related work items. As directed by VDOT, preliminary work sometimes included surface preparation and restoration prior to asphalt overlay due to localized disintegration of the existing pavement. Major work items included applying thousands of gallons of tack coat, paving with asphalt concrete, surface preparation and restoration, and Type B Class VI pavement line markings.
Project Significance
This contract involved interstate construction on Fairfax County’s major interstates and routes. Fort Myer Construction deals with several restrictions included time limitations and massive traffic management. Due to our extensive experience and the specialists on staff, we are able to navigate these difficulties without delay or unexpected expense, with minimal disruption to the traveling public. Safety was our top priority due to the large quantity of fast-moving cars continually passing during construction.
