ANACOSTIA 2nd HIGH UTILITIES SERVICE
The project consisted of the replacement and reconnection of 28,500 linear feet or more than 5 miles of water service at various locations in Southeast Washington, DC. Construction involved valve work, relocation of sanitary and storm water systems, gas mains, telephone, electrical conduit and poles; and the restoration of numerous affected streets and sidewalks. Also included, was grading and tree restoration on National Park Service properties at Ft. Stanton and L’Enfant Square.
Project Significance
The project showcased Fort Myer’s ability to construct complex underground utilities projects in multiple locations with minimal disruption to residents and businesses.
