THE SHOPS AT DAKOTA CROSSING
The Shops at Dakota Crossing is a 430,000 square foot retail center, bringing a destination shopping venue to Northeast, DC, drawing crowds from the entire District of Columbia, surrounding neighborhoods, as well as surrounding Maryland and Virginia suburbs. The project was anchored by several strong, national retailers including Costco and Lowe’s. In addition to approximately 50,000 square feet of retail space will be occupied by small shops, a bank, and several restaurants and food service providers.
The center has been designed with several neighborhood friendly design features, including a central, walk-able “Main Street” of small shops and restaurants, pedestrian-friendly linkages to the surrounding residential developments, and several public plazas and open spaces with outdoor seating.
Fort Myer was responsible for the paving of sidewalks including curb and gutter, parking lots and the installations of all parking lot lighting.
Project Significance
Due to the project having tight deadline schedules for the outdoor electrical work, the client requested Fort Myer specifically to handle a majority of the work.
