Rehabilitation of K Street, L Street, M Street and Florida Avenue between First and Second Street, NE. These areas run beneath Metro, CSX and the Amtrak railway going into Union Station. Drainage and pedestrian access as well as implementation of bridge safety upgrades were completed.
 

Project Significance

Demonstrates Fort Myer Construction’s ability to team with other contractors to achieve a complex rehabilitation in a busy urban area. Project located in the midst of the emerging NoMA mixed use Business Improvement District. Work was performed in conjunction with the Reconstruction of Second Street NE project, improving underpass drainage, enhancing pedestrian access from nearby Metro stations, and providing vehicular channeling devices to protect railroad bridge columns.
