AOC SENATE UNDERGROUND GARAGE AND LANDSCAPE RENOVATION
Architect of the Capitol (AOC) Senate Underground Garage Renovation multi-year project will renovate the Senate Underground Garage and Senate Park. The renovation includes the interior rehabilitation of the garage, central fountain reflecting pool, planters, and surrounding pavement areas. Also included is restoration of the exterior stonework, plaza walkway, and waterproofing repairs for the fountains, upper plaza and the pedestrian tunnel under Delaware Avenue.
Fort Myer is a subcontractor on this project and is responsible for all wet utilities, site utilities, and earthwork. Our team handles construction of the new duplex storm water pump station, demolition of all sidewalks, concrete ramp, granite curbs at the east ramp, and all sheeting and shoring, rigging, hoisting, and scaffolding.
Project Significance
In the early 80’s, Fort Myer Construction had the privilege of performing site work around the Senate Building. We rehabilitated the reflecting pool in the early years of our company and are proud to be able to work on this historic site again, decades later.
